Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the border from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den betting is against the law. Eight casinos are anchored in a generally small space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime destination, a 3 to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing income accrued from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a few controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; still, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 17:00, and even though visas are allegedly necessary to cross, there are methods around this, as is correct of most borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling hall, highlights 150 slots and 60 gaming tables. The Naga river boat is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six table games, including 87 punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel complex that features many comforts accompanying the gambling den, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight gaming tables.
