The confirmed number of Kyrgyzstan gambling dens is a fact in a little doubt. As info from this country, out in the very most central section of Central Asia, can be difficult to get, this may not be all that astonishing. Whether there are two or three approved gambling halls is the thing at issue, perhaps not in reality the most all-important article of information that we don’t have.
What no doubt will be true, as it is of many of the old Soviet nations, and certainly correct of those located in Asia, is that there will be a good many more not legal and clandestine gambling dens. The change to approved wagering didn’t drive all the aforestated locations to come from the dark into the light. So, the clash regarding the total amount of Kyrgyzstan’s gambling halls is a minor one at best: how many accredited gambling halls is the element we’re seeking to resolve here.
We understand that located in Bishkek, the capital metropolis, there is the Casino Las Vegas (a remarkably unique name, don’t you think?), which has both gaming tables and slot machines. We can additionally find both the Casino Bishkek and the Xanadu Casino. Both of these have 26 slot machines and 11 table games, split between roulette, blackjack, and poker. Given the amazing likeness in the size and setup of these 2 Kyrgyzstan casinos, it may be even more bizarre to determine that both are at the same address. This appears most bewildering, so we can perhaps conclude that the number of Kyrgyzstan’s casinos, at least the authorized ones, stops at two members, one of them having adjusted their name not long ago.
The country, in common with practically all of the ex-Soviet Union, has experienced something of a rapid conversion to commercialism. The Wild East, you might say, to refer to the lawless circumstances of the Wild West an aeon and a half ago.
Kyrgyzstan’s gambling dens are in fact worth checking out, therefore, as a bit of anthropological research, to see money being bet as a form of collective one-upmanship, the conspicuous consumption that Thorstein Veblen talked about in 19th century America.
