Mozambique Casinos

[ English | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano ]

The general insufficiency in the numbers of, Mozambique’s casinos is in one sense quite uncertain, in one way or another.

In past years, the territory was a spot where many South Africans would check out to escape from the extremely prohibitive rules on games of chance (and, it has to be said, mixing with other races) that they had at home. So, you would think of a picture of an expanding location to serve that tourist industry.

Still, perhaps it isn’t really a discovery. The region is certainly the most barren on the globe, having gone through a horrible civil war (followed by shattering floods) from which it is still, very slowly, rebounding. This tends to make a region way less of a vacation target, despite the fact that there is now a favorable display along some of the city’s breathtaking beaches.

It is at the same time legitimate that regionally at a minimum, Mozambique’s casinos have had to partake with many others in the lately liberalized South Africa, which is inclusive of the famous Sun City founded by the Kerzner family management.

Here is a list of Mozambique’s casinos:

Maputo: Polana Casino Hotel

There are 78 slot machines and also video poker games, five tables of American roulette, 4 blackjack tables, along with 1 poker table.

Namaacha: Sol Libombos Hotel Casino

There are 40 slot machines, American roulette, as well as two tables for poker and also punto banco.

It is thought that over time the complete tourism sector in Mozambique will flourish greatly. While the local languages are, obviously, African, there is at the same time the remnant of Portuguese from the old colonial power and the distinctive and escalating inception of English, both from South Africa and as part of the world-wide phenomenon. The country is extremely cheap (clearly, as it is really poor) and as above, has some of the most captivating beaches world wide, fronting onto the Indian Ocean. Those are the kinds of assets that make tourism executives drool, and as the country climbs out of its prevailing slump, it’s likely that not only will tourism boost, but that the list of casinos in Mozambique will grow longer for sure.

While the country is unlikely to ever reinstate its image as a focal point for partying South Africans, as there are now other options closer to home for them to relish in, the advancement of a long distance tourism sector is being line up. This would be to cater to Europeans seeking winter sun, as a release from the bleakness of the Northern Hemisphere winter. Additionally, to top it off, the best prawns (shrimp) in the world are just offshore, in the Mozambique Channel.
